I do take commissions to make paper light sculptures! You can order one based off of anything in the gallery, or get creative and request something I've never made before. Please review the information below then fill out the contact form to get started!
What specifics do you need?
Please specify what form you want. If it is based off something from the gallery please indicate which one, if not, please describe the thing you'd like built. Indicate what colors you'd like and any details you feel are pertinent - for example, if you'd like included handprinted designs, nautical maps, regular maps, vintage maps, sheet music or book pages, etc.
How will the process work?
Once we have settled on the details for the custom we will both sign a contract and any fees due at this time will be paid (see pricing section below). Once the contract is signed, I will begin work on the artwork. I will do my best to send you at least one work-in-progress photo. Once the art piece is complete, I will send you some photographs of it. I want to you to be satisfied with the custom before I send it to you!
Because the lantern sculptures do not leave much room for modifications, if you are not satisfied with what I have created and no minor changes can remedy this, then, (unless otherwise specified in the contract) the timeframe will be extended and I will construct a new version of the piece. Once this new work is complete I will send you pictures of that. At that point you will choose which one you want and pay for it and I will ship it to you. I will keep the extra artwork to sell as I see fit. Only one extra piece will be created.
How does pricing work?
The starting price will give you a good idea of an approximate cost for the custom build, but once I hear the details from you I will provide you an official quote. For orders over $130, %30 of the total will be paid upfront and the remainder when I ship it to you. The 30% is nonrefundable. Prices are based on the complexity of the build and material costs. Prices for customs are not more than my regular prices.
How long will it take?
The length of time needed really depends on the custom being built and what time I have when the order is placed. At the very least it will take a week to construct and it could take up to three or more weeks. If you need a rush custom built please indicate that and explain why when you submit your custom request and I will see what I can do. There may be an extra cost for a rush order.
