Hi! I'm Megan Little!

I hope you'll say hi or sign up for my newsletter so that we can get to know each-other. But to speed you up on getting to know me
(these bios are really very one-sided, aren't they?), here's a bit about me:

I'm a maker and a dreamer and I often find myself the artsy one in the nerd crowd, or, sometimes, the nerdy one in the art crowd.

My favourite color as a child was ALWAYS yellow, but I changed it to green in my awkward teen phase when I realized I look terrible in yellow and didn't want anyone to give me yellow clothing.
(And yes I occasionally don't correct the 'u' out of favourite because I'm half Canadian, so get over it!)

I've always loved children's art and children's stories and you can definitely see that reflected in all my art.

Why do I make my art and what it is it about, you ask?  I make art because I love creating new things and adding beauty and light to the world. All the glory be to God in Jesus for giving me the creative talents and opportunities to do so!

Ok, ok, some boring details: I'm currently residing with my two adorable cats in Nashville TN, where I'm serving as volunteer President of Platetone: Printmaking, Paper, and Book Arts. I'm also a teaching artist at Turnip Green Creative Reuse where I get to teach kids and grownups out to make stuff out of reuse matterials! I've got a bachelors in visual art from a teensy-tiny liberal arts school in NY state called Houghton College (where I once drove into a snow bank while directing a play on February break - ask me about it).

I was an artist in Residence at Turnip Green Creative Reuse in the fall of 2018 and exhibited my work in a solo show in November.

In case you were wondering, my website name comes from a little ditty that I made up as a young teen and I consider my life 'theme-song'.

Here's the chorus:

I've been to the sea
to tell all the people
of things that could be
places that we could go
and laugh at the times
I'm reminded that life's
about more than just ordinary

Subscribe to my mailing list to hear about my adventures in ministry, new art, and invites to events I'm putting on!
